In the documentary Nachtdienst (Nightshift) we follow three characters during their night job. We discover the way they experience the night and the way our society, in which daytime jobs are the standard, looks at them. What exactly is their bond with the night and what makes it so special? Why don't they choose to work a 9 to 5 job? And what are the consequences of being active at night? We follow Yuri during a rough night at sea as a captain for 'Loodswezen'. We go partying with Antonio who's hosting an event as an MC. And we see Harry during one of his final nights in his bakery on the Overtoom in Amsterdam, which he is forced to shut down. Besides these personal stories, the film brings a homage to the atmosphere of the night and why it is so intriguing.
